“Show me the love”

I believe that there are very few aspects in a person’s life that truly make that person glow. To find one, is like winning the lottery. It is an amazing feeling to obtain. I have been lucky enough to find four. The four different colors of frosting on my cake represent them. My four best friends truly do make me glow. My best friend Melissa is my right hand. She is probably the only person who I can seriously talk to about anything with and will understand exactly what I am going through. She is my sister, now and forever and I love her. My next best friend is Lauren; she is the nicest, sweetest, best person I have ever met. I have known her almost my whole life and will do anything to make her happy. I love her. Next, is my boyfriend Eric. He is amazing! All he tries to do is make me a little happier and that is all I can ask for in another person. I love him. My next best friend is my mom. She is the light of my life. I wouldn’t be who/where I am today if it wasn’t for her and her affection towards me. I love her. All of my friends make up me. They make me glow and I have unconditional love for all of them. I also really love to bake.

The teachers have been having fun, somewhere other than school for a change. Like the students, the teachers enjoyed the week of spring break by doing memorable and exciting things. Some of the teachers’ spring breaks were filled with breath-taking excitement at every turn by visiting distant places, new additions to the family, and doing things completely out of the ordinary makes their spring break smash the dull routine of school altogether.

Ireland, known for its excellence in scientific research, was visited by an unexpected visitor. Biology professor, Jennifer Russell left for Ireland and returned with interesting and amusing stories of her trip.

(Quote from Russell of her trip to Ireland- preferably the car story of her getting stuck in her car pulling the lever of what she thought was the brake, but instead was the windshield wipers, making herself known as the “idiot tourist”)

The birth of a baby is always a miracle and Nadia Zananiri, an A.P. World History teacher, gave birth to her child, Jasmine on March , over the spring break. (?) hours in labor and (her opinion of whether it was fun having a baby or not).

(I really need other people to interview, any suggestions?)

Mid Marking Reflection

May 2, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Throughout this quarter I have helped Margaret and Aaron with multiple things such as editing and taking over articles that needed to be rewritten. I have helped edit articles for both Aaron with sports and Margaret. I really enjoyed helping both of them in what they needed to be completed.

Taking over a Journalism 1, students article has been interesting. It actually has been extremely fun. I have never written a features article so thats cool. Also be starting hat aritcle I get to interview teachers on what they did over spring break. By doing so it really makes you look at your teachers differently by knowing what they do on their free time.

In conclusion this semester has been very productive for everyone. I have helped Margaret and Aaron. I also have started written the conclusion of the Track Season article and I have took over a Journalism 1 students article on teachers spring breaks.  This paper is going to be awesome.

Mid Marking Reflection

February 29, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Throughout this marking period I have done many things. I have writen a track aritcle, edited a News article, and assisted both Margaret and Aaron with their sections; sports and features. It has been great. Margaret is always a pleasure to work with and although it was a new experience working with Aaron, especially on sports, I enjoyed it.

I really enjoyed helping Margaret and Aaron. I am a big sports fan so working with him was so much fun and features is just always fun.  Writing for Aaron is also cool because my life is basically sports so i had fun writing about something that I enjoy. I also learned alot by my interviews with the runners about the sport that I didnt know.

I feel that this marking period, everyone in the class has become more focused and feels more comfertable with their jobs and how to perform their tasks in their jobs well.  I think evryone is working hard and wants to be there and produce a good paper.

In conclusion, so far this semester i have written an article. I also have helped Aaron with sports and editing aritcles. I have helped Margaret with features and her editing and I have also edited a possible future news article. Everyone in the class is doing really well and I think if we keep up the good work we will have an amazing Beach Comber.

Class Presentation Here!!!

December 16, 2007 · Leave a Comment

Hi Guys,

For these past few weeks I have been assisting Aaron and Margaret with their articles. I was assigned to the girls basketball  team MVP, I have to write a few facts about her in 150 to 200 words. Give me your opinions, anything you this is irrelevant to the rest of the article and anything that you think I should add. Thank you!!! =)

The Miami Beach Senior high  girls basketball MVP Stephanie D‘Angelo, led the team to their first victory in two years against Miami Edison Senior High School. The final score was 47-51. D’Angelo is a junior, a scholars academy student, plays volleyball, runs track and has an average of about 12 points and 10 rebounds a game. Although Beach Highs’ record is 1-9, D’Angelo keeps a positive attitude, “Our team, even though we’ve gone through many struggles of losses and changing coaches we kept our head high, we worked hard to prepare to have a better season next year.” Coach Jacob Shaw, a first year coach at Beach is extremely proud of the girls hard work and effort. “Every game we get better and better their attitudes are very very positive  and I love coaching them. “This last game was incredible”, states D’Angelo. “The game was close but when the pressure was on us we did what we had to do.”

Saw Dust the killers 3rd draft

November 29, 2007 · Leave a Comment

Sawdust -The Killers2nd DraftFIVE Star(fish)es After the ever successful, Sam’s Town, The Killers, have once again done it. With their new album, Sawdust, they have managed to produce a CD full of new, vibrant sounds and sensations. Brandon Flowers, lead singer and keyboardist, comes back with the same monotone singing, and contrary to most beliefs, is quite agreeable. The backs up vocals are nice also, and the guitar and bass, by Dave Keuning and Mark Stoermer (respectively), are simply timeless. The first single, Tranquilize is a very descent song. It is a bit darker than the others, as the music has a heavier tone; and yet is relatively entertaining. The chorus is utterly refreshing, as compared to the rest of the song. It is much calmer, and much more musical. (Oxymoron’s in perfect harmony) Lou Reed plays a very important part of the song, and makes a major contribution to Tranquilize. Not just because he wrote the song Walk on the Wild Side, but because he really brings his part to create a truly unique song. Shadow play, on the other hand, is a collaboration of rock n’ roll meets serious techno, as in comparison to the other tracks. It is not absolutely pleasant, especially compared to the rest of the anticipated album.               Although Tranquilize and Shadow play are the hit singles from the album, Romeo and Juliet tops the best song list. A bit reminiscent of the 80’s, it has extremely delightful vocals, and the music… just amazing. “Juliet, when we made love, you used to cry / I said, ‘I love you like the stars above, I’ll love you till I die’  There’s a place for us, you know the movie song / When you gonna realize, it was just that the time was wrong, Juliet?”. Enough said about the lyrics, just brilliant. The fact that it is a modern rock n’ roll version of a serenade, from Romeo to Juliet, makes it an award-worthy song. It is… cute; lovely, even.If there is one thing The Killers have to be credited for, is the versatility of the album. The varied tracks, guarantee a favorite for everyone. After Hot Fuss and Sam’s Town, a downfall was somewhat expected   It is, in fact, unlikely to have three great CDs in a row, and still, the Killers’ release of Sawdust keeps the audience shouting encore.
